William Lee and the "Barrow Kipper". This fossil, known locally as the Barrow Kipper and more accurately as the Rhomaleosaurus megacephalus ('strong lizard with a big head') was the inspiration for the village sign. It was sold by William Lee to Leicestershire New Walk Museum and a copy can be seen in Charnwood Museum.
